Position Summary:
Robla School District is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered School Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality health services to students on a per diem (as-needed, day-to-day) basis. This means the nurse is not scheduled for regular full-time or part-time hours, but instead works as needed to cover absences, peak demand, or special circumstances. The ideal candidate will support student well-being, promote a safe and healthy school environment, and respond effectively to both routine and emergency health needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, illness assessment, and emergency response
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and district policies
• Develop and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Care Plans (ECPs)
• Monitor and manage communicable diseases in compliance with state and local health regulations
• Maintain accurate, confidential student health records and documentation
• Collaborate with school staff, families, and healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
• Support student wellness through health education and preventive care initiatives
• Assist with health screenings and ensure compliance with immunization requirements
• Respond effectively to health emergencies and crisis situations
Qualifications:
• Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Washington
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification
• Prior experience in pediatrics, public health, or school nursing preferred
• Familiarity with Washington State school health guidelines and regulations preferred
• Strong clinical judgment, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and adapt to different school environments
Working Conditions:
• On-call, per diem schedule based on district needs
• Assignments may vary across multiple school sites
• Requires mobility and the ability to respond quickly in emergency situations
