Step into a vital role supporting surgical services at a large, teaching hospital with Level 1 Trauma designation. This contract opportunity is well-suited for an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist or ORT nurse looking to work in a dynamic, high-acuity environment. With 637 licensed beds and specialized centers for trauma, stroke, and chest pain, you’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver top-quality perioperative care.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 10-hour day shifts (7:00 am – 5:00 pm), 40 hours per week
  • 6-9 on-call shifts per month—including weekends and holidays (holiday call required)
  • Contract assignments with a 6-week schedule cycle
  • Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in General OR; 5 years if specializing in CVOR
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Certification preferred for CSTs)
  • Current BLS certification required
  • Strong familiarity with general, orthopedic, neuro, cardiovascular, plastic, ENT, colorectal, and robotics procedures
  • Experience with EMR systems (EPIC Optime), Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis med dispensing, and Phillips monitors
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Flexibility with on-call and holiday scheduling
  • Responsibilities:

  • Prepare operating rooms, ensuring equipment and instruments are ready and sterile
  • Anticipate and fulfill the surgical team’s needs during various procedures, including orthopedic trauma and open-heart surgeries
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
  • Support surgeons and circulating nurses across all surgical cases (floating is not required)
