Position Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide comprehensive health services for students during the 2026–2027 school year. The School Nurse will play a key role in promoting student health, supporting academic success, and ensuring compliance with state and district health requirements. This position works collaboratively with students, families, educators, and healthcare providers to maintain a safe and healthy learning environment.

Primary Responsibilities
Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and health assessments to students and staff as needed
Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, state regulations, and district policies
Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Emergency Action Plans (EAPs)
Manage student health records and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions, including asthma, diabetes, seizure disorders, and severe allergies
Conduct health screenings and coordinate follow-up care as required
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and community healthcare providers to support student well-being
Respond to medical emergencies and implement established emergency protocols
Promote health education and wellness initiatives throughout the school community
Ensure compliance with Illinois State Board of Education and district health requirements
Qualifications
Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a School Nurse endorsement, or eligibility to obtain required certification
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Previous experience in school nursing, pediatrics, public health, or community health preferred
Strong clinical assessment, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced educational environment

Compensation for this position ranges from $33.00 to $51.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals.
