As a Travel RN in the Stepdown/Progressive Care setting, you’ll broaden your expertise by working with a diverse patient population and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team dedicated to high-quality care. This role offers exposure to a variety of workplace practices and leadership styles, enhancing your professional portfolio while preparing you for future leadership positions. You’ll gain invaluable hands-on experience with advanced cardiac, respiratory, and neurological cases, strengthening your ability to manage complex patient needs.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-week assignment
  • Rotating shifts with typical nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 (days) and 1:5 (nights)
  • Qualifications:

  • Current, unrestricted RN license (state of assignment or compact)
  • Minimum of 2 years’ Stepdown/IMC experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience
  • Ventilator management experience in an IMC setting
  • BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Certification (all required)
  • Dysrhythmia exam (study guide available)
  • EPIC EHR familiarity (preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Critical Care certifications desirable
  • Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop and implement care plans, and provide educational support to patients and families
  • Administer and monitor various drips including Cardizem (titration required), Amiodarone, nitro, heparin, Lasix, and bumex
  • Manage advanced respiratory therapies (BiPAP, CPAP, HHFNC, mechanical ventilation)
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams, serving as a key point of contact for patient care coordination
  • Respond adaptively to rapidly changing patient conditions, advocating for patient safety and quality outcomes
  • Uphold infection control protocols and exercise universal precautions
