Key Responsibilities:

  • Reach out to physicians before August 12th to obtain necessary orders for a student with specialized health needs
  • Develop an Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP) to be implemented on the first day of school
  • Be present on campus alongside the student for the entire school day during the first week of classes
  • Manage ongoing student casework throughout the school year, as determined by doctor’s orders
  • Provide potential training to staff and supervision to an LVN delivering daily care
  • Present findings and recommendations to the IEP team for student support
  • Desired Qualifications:

  • Current Registered Nurse license in California
  • Certified School Nurse credentials preferred
  • Prior experience with G-tube, tracheostomy, and toileting care in a school setting
  • Familiarity supporting students receiving special education services
  • Strong communication skills for team collaboration and IEP meetings
  • Ability to adapt to evolving needs and offer onsite presence as required
