Make a meaningful difference as a dedicated one-on-one nurse supporting a student with Dravet’s syndrome and Autism in a vibrant educational setting starting August 2026 through May 2027. This school-based role offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with educational staff and make a significant daily impact on the health and well-being of one student. Full-time hours are provided, with a schedule of 7.5 hours per day, five days a week, allowing for both stability and the chance to form lasting connections.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Maine Registered Nurse license required
  • Experience in a school setting as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical/Vocational Nurse (LPN/LVN) preferred
  • Strong ability to follow medical protocols and emergency plans
  • Comfort working collaboratively with educators, therapy staff, and support personnel
  • Prior experience with seizure disorders or special needs populations highly valued
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 nursing care for a student with Dravet’s syndrome and Autism throughout the school day and during transportation to/from school
  • Monitor for seizure activity, ensuring prompt response in accordance with the student’s individualized medical plan
  • Support and train staff regarding seizure protocols and considerations for outdoor activities based on weather conditions
  • Complete daily nursing assessments and observations
  • Optional: contribute to behavioral data collection if interested and able (preferred but not required)
  • Work collaboratively with the dedicated Ed Tech providing ADL support
