Nurses with Stepdown (Progressive Care Unit) experience are needed for a contract assignment serving a dynamic, 33-bed unit. This team values teamwork and places a strong emphasis on patient-centered care and support from a wide array of healthcare professionals.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Every other weekend rotation
  • No on-call shifts required
  • Holiday coverage required for 75% of shifts
  • Schedule provided in 6-week cycles
  • Up to 6 days of approved time off (excluding holidays); additional time must be added to the contract’s end if hour requirements aren’t met

    • Qualifications & Experience:

  • Active RN license with a minimum of 18 months PCU or Stepdown experience
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Strong skills in trach care, cardiac drips management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tube care, blood product administration, wound care/dressings, and central line management
  • Effective communication and a team-driven work style
  • First-time travelers are welcome!

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, direct patient care for individuals with conditions including stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, A-fib, COPD, and more
  • Maintain patient ratios of 1:5–1:6
  • Utilize EPIC for documentation and technology such as Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips Telemetry
  • Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV/vascular access teams, respiratory therapy, pharmacists, and hospitalists (both in-person and virtual)
  • Float within the regional network as needed (paid travel time when floating mid-shift)
