Bring your expertise as a Registered Nurse to support students in a dynamic school environment during the Extended School Year (ESY) session! This contract position begins July 13, 2026, and continues through August 21, 2026, providing vital healthcare services onsite within a vibrant educational community.

This role serves as essential coverage while the school prepares to fill a permanent nursing position for the upcoming academic year. If a nurse isn’t hired by the end of the ESY term, there’s potential for continued employment into the next school year.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Nursing or a health-related field is required.
  • Current and valid Michigan Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Michigan School Nurse Certification (Interim, Standard, or Professional) is preferred.
  • Certification to teach First Aid, CPR, and AED through the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or an equivalent organization is preferred.
  • Ability to train others in First Aid and CPR is a significant advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, reliability, and a commitment to student well-being.

    • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct nursing care for students and staff during the ESY program.
  • Manage and document health records, medications, and treatments per policy.
  • Offer emergency response and triage care as needed within the school setting.
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support a safe learning environment.
  • Train selected staff in First Aid/CPR if certified and able.
