Embark on a rewarding opportunity delivering exceptional patient care on a dynamic Medical-Surgical unit. This contract position involves night shifts (19:00–07:30) with guaranteed hours of either 36 or 48 per week for thirteen weeks. Every other weekend coverage is required, and floating may be needed to similar or lower acuity units. Night shift orientation is provided, requiring availability for day shifts during the first week.

Qualifications:

Active RN license, eligible or licensed in Missouri

BLS certification from AHA (required)

ACLS certification from AHA (preferred)

Minimum 1 year recent, inpatient Med Surg experience

Neuro Med Surg experience highly desired

Ability to meet physical demands including frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and assisting with patient mobility

Compliance with flu vaccination policy or Mercy-approved exemption (Nov 1 – Apr 1 only)

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver comprehensive, age-appropriate patient assessments, planning, interventions, and evaluations

Provide direct, hands-on care for patients post-trauma, surgical interventions, and with medical comorbidities

Coordinate patient care in collaboration with ancillary departments

Uphold professional accountability for safe, high-quality care in accordance with Missouri Nurse Practice Act and professional standards

Monitor and promote patient rights and confidentiality

Serve as a resource and support for fellow caregivers

Utilize EMR: EPIC

Adhere to unit dress code—black scrubs required
