A skilled Registered Nurse is sought for an emergency department contract assignment. This role comprises direct patient care, clinical coordination, and collaborative support within a hospital environment serving a diverse patient population. The position requires professionalism, adaptability, and strong clinical skills to deliver safe, efficient care while maintaining the highest standards.

Schedule/Hours:

Nights, 7pm – 7am

Rotating weekend shifts, up to 2 per 4-week period

No regular on-call requirements, though you may be placed on call during low census periods

Floating to other units as needed for census or acuity

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program

Current New Mexico RN license or Compact state license

BLS, ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications required (all AHA)

TNCC or ATCN certification required

CPI or equivalent preferred

Up-to-date clinical knowledge and comfort working with diverse patient acuity levels

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with patients, families, and fellow staff

Physical capacity for extensive standing, walking, and occasional heavy lifting/positioning

Responsibilities:

Provide evidence-based, age-appropriate care to ER patients

Implement nursing assessments, care plans, interventions, and evaluations

Ensure safety and respect for patient rights in each care encounter

Respond calmly and efficiently in crisis situations

Collaborate with physicians, team members, and other units as needed when floated

Adapt to evolving priorities, emergency scenarios, and varying patient loads
