Requirements & Desired Experience:

  • Current, unencumbered RN license
  • Proven experience in CVOR nursing required
  • Advanced understanding of surgical procedures and instrumentation related to cardiovascular surgery
  • BLS and ACLS certifications, current and valid
  • Strong assessment, communication, and critical-thinking abilities
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and high-acuity surgical setting
  • Detail-oriented approach with a commitment to patient advocacy and safety

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with surgeons and surgical teams to prepare for and assist during cardiovascular procedures
  • Scrub and circulate on various open-heart and vascular cases
  • Monitor, assess, and record patient condition before, during, and after procedures
  • Maintain a sterile field and ensure compliance with infection control guidelines
  • Anticipate needs and respond quickly in acute or emergent situations
  • Provide thorough documentation and communication within the interdisciplinary team
  • Support patients and families by offering information, reassurance, and education
