Deliver exceptional patient care and professional nursing leadership as a CVOR Registered Nurse in a dynamic hospital environment. This contract assignment requires adaptability, circulating expertise, strong teamwork, and high standards of professional nursing practice. You'll play a key role in coordinating and directing care within the Cardiovascular Operating Room and supporting other clinical areas as needed.

Schedule and Hours:

  • 5x8 hour shifts, 40 hours weekly
  • Required to work holidays as scheduled
  • Every other weekend shift
  • Willingness to float to other units and hospitals
  • Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in nursing required
  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license by the State of Alabama or Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted)
  • Current AHA BLS and ACLS (or Red Cross equivalent) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience preferred; will consider candidates with 18 months of RN experience if at least 1 year is in CVOR roles
  • Solid background circulating in the CVOR
  • Familiarity with supervising LPNs, PCAs, Ortho Techs, and non-licensed staff
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, coordinate, and direct quality care, upholding standards of professional nursing practice
  • Build positive therapeutic relationships with patients and families
  • Circulate within cardiovascular operating room settings, and provide leadership and clear delegation to support staff
  • Supervise and mentor LPNs, PCAs, US, and other non-licensed care team members
  • Float to different units and facilities as operationally required to meet patient needs
