Step into a vital operating room role supporting complex cardiovascular and thoracic procedures. This contract position requires proven experience as a CVOR Tech, with a focus on cardiothoracic cases including CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest surgeries. You will collaborate alongside expert surgical teams to ensure the highest standards of patient care, sterility, and safety.

Schedule:

  • Day rotation, Monday–Friday; 40 hours/week
  • Shifts typically start between 6 a.m. and 7 a.m.
  • Five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Up to 3 call shifts per week (8–16 hours each)
  • One working weekend with call per 4-week period
  • Contract duration: 13 weeks
  • Qualifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA) required
  • BLS certification required
  • Demonstrated CVOR and cardiothoracic surgery experience
  • Skilled with CABG, valve replacement, VATS, and robotic chest procedures
  • Proficient in sterile technique and infection control policies
  • Ability to participate in call rotation and weekend coverage
  • Responsibilities:

  • Maintain strict aseptic technique before, during, and after procedures
  • Assist the surgeon with instrument handling, draping, and operating needs
  • Prepare for surgical cases by organizing instruments and supplies per preference cards
  • Ensure an organized and safe operative field and surgical environment
  • Perform accurate surgical counts (sponges, tapes, needles, etc.)
  • Handle and identify specimens following proper protocols
  • Expedite OR turnover between cases to maintain workflow efficiency
  • Support preoperative safety checks and hazard identification
  • Mentor new OR staff and consult with experienced team members as necessary
  • Participate in call rotation and flex coverage as assigned
