A talented Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist is needed for a contract assignment with a prominent surgical team. You will play a critical role during a range of advanced cardiothoracic procedures—including CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest surgeries—ensuring patient safety and optimal surgical outcomes.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Day rotation, Monday–Friday; 40 hours per week
  • Start times typically between 6:00 a.m.–7:00 a.m.
  • Flexible: Choose between five 8-hour shifts or four 10-hour shifts
  • Call required: Up to 3 shifts per week (8–16 hours each)
  • One working weekend with call every 4 weeks
  • Contract duration: 13 weeks
  • Required Qualifications & Experience:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist credential (NBSTSA)
  • Current BLS certification
  • Proven CVOR and cardiothoracic surgical experience (CABG, valve replacements, VATS, robotic chest procedures, etc.)
  • Mastery of infection control standards, sterile technique, and organized operative field management
  • Experience working collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and the OR team
  • Strong ability to anticipate surgeon needs and efficiently manage instruments and supplies
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to strict infection control and aseptic techniques while maintaining a sterile environment
  • Assist surgeons with all aspects of surgical procedures, including gowning, gloving, draping, and instrument handling
  • Accurately account for all surgical items before, during, and after procedures
  • Prepare for cases by assembling the necessary equipment and supplies, and resolve any issues proactively
  • Support patient safety and efficiently facilitate OR turnover
  • Serve as a resource for new and existing OR staff
  • Handle specimens appropriately and assist with ancillary surgical tasks as directed
