Job Details

    • Position Overview

    The Floating School Nurse will provide nursing coverage across multiple school campuses as needed. All assigned campuses are located within close proximity, with the furthest campus approximately six miles away. The ideal candidate is flexible, organized, and comfortable traveling between schools to support student health needs.

    Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care and health services to K-12 students
  • Assess and respond to student illnesses, injuries, and medical concerns
  • Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and school policies
  • Maintain accurate student health records and documentation
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and healthcare providers
  • Support Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and emergency care plans
  • Provide nursing coverage at multiple school campuses as assigned
  • Promote a safe and healthy learning environment for all students
  • Follow state, district, and school health guidelines and procedures

    • Qualifications

  • Active Massachusetts RN License or LPN License required
  • Previous school-based nursing experience required
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Comfortable traveling between campuses throughout the workday
  • Strong clinical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must complete fingerprinting and CORI background screening
  • Must be available to work the full scheduled hours
