This travel role provides a unique opportunity to work within a progressive stepdown care environment, engaging with diverse patient populations and expanding your clinical expertise. By rotating through multiple facilities in the region, you’ll gain valuable insights into varied leadership styles, clinical protocols, and technological tools, all of which contribute to meaningful professional development. Each rotation is a chance to strengthen your resume while building adaptability and resourcefulness in dynamic healthcare settings.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Rotating weekends (every other)
  • No on-call requirements
  • Expect to work 75% of holidays
  • Flexible scheduling every 6-week cycle
  • Up to 6 days of requested time off (excluding holidays)
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 18 months of Progressive Care / PCU RN experience
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
  • Proficiency in tracheostomy care, cardiac IV titrations, rhythm interpretation, chest tube management, blood administration, central line care, wound/dressing changes
  • Comfortable floating within all regional facilities as needed
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert nursing care to a range of stepdown patients: CHF, stroke, chest pain, diabetes, infections, withdrawal, and more
  • Maintain patient safety with ratios typically 1:4, occasionally 1:5
  • Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapists, and other key team members
  • Utilize EPIC, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell, and Phillips monitors
  • Engage in departmental and facility orientations
