Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active RN license (State of IL or compact).
  • Direct experience with respiratory and airway management, including ventilator and tracheostomy care, and suctioning.
  • Skilled in enteral feeding procedures (G-tube usage and pump management), with safe oral intake support.
  • Confident with mobility assistance: wheelchair transfers, hygiene/changing, and handling heavier medical equipment.
  • Comfort riding the school bus with the student daily and maintaining diligent supervision.
  • Strong communication for interdisciplinary collaboration with school staff and caregivers.
  • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver daily 1:1 nursing care within the classroom and during bus transport.
  • Independently manage high-acuity medical equipment.
  • Ensure safe feeding and mobility throughout the school day.
  • Maintain clear, compassionate communication with all team members.
