This role is based in a 32-bed Ortho/Neuro Med/Surg private unit that also manages medical overflow. You'll gain valuable experience working with diverse patient populations, from scheduled elective orthopedic and neuro/surgical patients to acute medical overflow. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and floating between units as needed, you'll deepen your clinical expertise, interpret telemetry strips, and learn from established leaders—all while broadening your resume.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 36 hours per week
  • Days, nights, every other weekend
  • Day shift may rotate between 7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a (low frequency); night shifts do not rotate
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Active Massachusetts RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years RN experience on Med/Surg units
  • Telemetry competency, including ability to interpret tele strips
  • Strong neuro assessment skills
  • BLS certification (ACLS preferred)
  • Experience with EPIC charting system
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide nursing care for elective orthopedic, neuro/surg patients, and medical overflow
  • Interpret and monitor telemetry strips
  • Float to applicable units as needed
  • Maintain a clinician-to-patient ratio of 1:4 (day/evening), up to 1:5–6 (night)
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document care accurately using EPIC EMR
