Work Schedule

  • 5 Days, 8-hour shifts
  • 1-2 24-hour weekend call shifts per schedule
  • 1-2 call nights per week
  • Floating to other departments as needed
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing and caring for pre-operative patients.
  • Prep skin for surgery and ensure aseptic techniques to maintain safety.
  • Help transport, position, and support patients while respecting privacy.
  • Set up operating rooms, instruments, and supplies based on case requirements.
  • Scrub in for at least 3 specialty areas (highly preferred).
  • Maintain the sterile field, pass instruments, suture, and assist physicians as directed.
  • Keep physician preference cards up to date.
  • Collaborate in a team setting to deliver optimal patient care.
  • Monitor, control, and maintain the surgical environment for patient safety.
  • Follow policies for decontamination, processing, and sterilization of instruments.
  • Adapt care to meet developmental and cultural needs of all patients served.
  • Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of accredited Surgical Technology or LVN/LPN program
  • 2+ years of experience preferred
  • BLS certification (AHA)
  • Certified Surgical Technologist or LVN/LPN License (required)
