Experienced RNs with stepdown and progressive care backgrounds are invited to take part in dynamic, patient-focused care on a 33-bed Progressive Care Unit. This contract role provides opportunities to deliver impactful care, interact with diverse patient populations, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in a supportive environment.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Rotating weekends (every other weekend required)
  • No on-call shifts
  • Holiday work required for 75% of holidays
  • Six-week schedule cycles
  • Up to six days of approved time off (restrictions apply for holidays)

    • Qualifications:

  • Active RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • At least 18 months of PCU nursing experience
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and essential nursing skills
  • Proficient with tracheostomy care, cardiac IV medication administration, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, and central line management
  • Willingness to float within the region to multiple facilities, as needed, within your scope of practice
  • Comfortable working with EPIC EMR, Alaris IV Pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, Phillips telemetry, and general unit-specific equipment

    • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in a stepdown environment
  • Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses such as stroke, pneumonia, cellulitis, acute mental status changes, and cardiac conditions
  • Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:5–1:6
  • Collaborate with unit CNAs, receptionists, charge nurses, phlebotomy, IV teams, resource nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and embrace a strong team-oriented culture
