Step into a rewarding role providing dedicated care as a 1:1 Registered Nurse for a middle school student for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract position, based near Portland and Westbrook, ME, covers the full academic calendar from August 31, 2026 through June 11, 2027. You'll work regular school day hours on Tuesdays and Fridays, totaling approximately 15 hours per week, with the option to take on per diem and substitute shifts as needed.
Your expertise will make a daily impact, supporting a student who uses a wheelchair, requires total assistance with all activities of daily living (ADLs), and lives with CHARGE syndrome. The student is non-verbal but utilizes a communication board, is NPO with a continuous running g-tube for feeding, and needs careful monitoring for hypoglycemia—including twice daily blood sugar checks and occasional g-tube apple juice boluses. Lifting assistance (2-person lift for toileting) is required.
