Key Qualifications:

  • Active CNA (Certified Nurse Assistant) certification required
  • Previous school-based or pediatric care experience is highly beneficial
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of diabetes management preferred
  • Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in health-related situations
  • Excellent communication skills and a caring, professional demeanor
  • Current CPR certification a plus
  • Role Responsibilities:

  • Accompany a student on daily van rides to and from school, ensuring their health and safety throughout transit
  • Monitor and support the student's diabetes care, following prescribed health protocols
  • Assist with blood glucose checks, responding appropriately to results, and coordinating with school nursing staff as necessary
  • Maintain accurate health records during transportation periods
  • Foster a supportive and reassuring environment for the student at all times
  • Collaborate with school staff, transportation personnel, and the student’s family to ensure seamless care
