Hours: Full-Time (School Day Schedule)

Position Type: 1:1 Student Support

We are seeking a reliable and attentive School Nurse (RN or LPN) to provide 1:1 support for a medically stable student in the Seattle area for the upcoming school year. The student is highly independent and does not require constant hands-on care, but needs a dedicated nursing professional for ongoing monitoring and specialized care plan management.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1:1 Student Monitoring: Monitor the student throughout the school day to ensure safety, comfort, and maximum inclusion in regular school activities.

  • Specialized Care: Manage care for a student with a tracheostomy (using a Passy-Muir valve) and a G-tube.

  • Daily Interventions: Provide occasional suctioning during mealtimes and PRN (as-needed) intermittent humidification according to the student's care plan.

  • Emergency Readiness: Remain fully prepared to provide emergency tracheostomy care if needed.

  • Health Office Support: Assist the primary school nurse with light administrative duties when direct student care is not actively required.

  • Safety Priority: School day monitoring and the student’s care plan are your absolute focus. Administrative tasks must never interfere with student monitoring, the care plan, or student safety.

    Qualifications & Requirements

  • Licensure: Active Washington State nursing license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

  • Clinical Experience: Direct, hands-on experience with tracheostomy care, suctioning, and G-tube management is highly preferred.

  • Certifications: Active CPR/BLS certification.

  • Background: Must pass standard Washington State Patrol and FBI criminal background clearances required for school personnel.

  • To Apply: Please submit your resume along with proof of WA nursing licensure and current clinical certifications.
