Step into a rewarding, full-time contract assignment supporting student wellness and success across two dynamic school communities! Beginning December 14, 2026, through March 15, 2027, this 12-week maternity leave opportunity offers an engaging mix of responsibilities in both a high school and elementary school setting, with the possibility of extension. This position is conveniently located near Naperville, IL, with school sites in Wheaton (zip: 60189).

Your week will be structured to provide comprehensive nursing support: Mondays through Wednesdays at a high school (7:00 am – 2:30 pm) and Thursdays and Fridays at an elementary school (8:00 am – 4:00 pm). This role is tailored for a compassionate, highly organized Certified School Nurse who values continuity of care in a school environment.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Current and valid Illinois Certified School Nurse licensure (PEL required; RN or LPN credentials alone do not meet requirements)
  • Demonstrated school nursing experience, particularly serving diverse student populations
  • Confidence managing multiple priorities and navigating varying school routines
  • Experience supporting students in health offices and collaborating in IEP meetings, specifically for those with special needs
  • Excellent communication skills with students, staff, and families
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and documentation abilities
  • Willingness to travel between two school buildings and adhere to school hours

  • Provide direct nursing care, including assessment, triage, and medication administration
  • Collaborate actively in IEP processes and attend meetings for special needs students
