Advance your nursing expertise in a dynamic Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) environment, supporting patients with complex cardiac diagnoses and post-surgical needs. This contract opportunity is well-suited for nurses with a background in critical care, looking to make a significant impact.

Schedule & Shift Details:

  • 12-hour Night Shifts: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • No call or callback responsibilities
  • Expect to work 75% of major holidays
  • Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of recent critical care experience, preferably within CVICU
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Proficiency in managing vasoactive medications, surgical drains, chest tubes, ventilators, and CRRT
  • Experience with invasive lines: arterial, PA catheters, transvenous pacemakers
  • Familiarity with invasive devices such as IABP and Impella strongly preferred
  • EMR: Epic; IV pumps: Alaris; Medication dispensing: Omnicell; Monitoring: Phillips
  • Ability and willingness to float within the regional hospital network as needed (paid if travel between sites during shift)
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert nursing care for post-cardiac surgery, STEMI, cardiogenic shock, and critically ill cardiovascular patients
  • Provide safe, thorough management of invasive devices and life-sustaining interventions
  • Collaborate within a high-acuity multidisciplinary team supported by 24/7 intensivist and respiratory therapy
  • Maintain high standards in patient safety, monitoring, and documentation
  • Adhere to hospital policies for holidays, float assignments, and schedule cycles
