Key Qualifications:

  • Must hold an active Professional Educator License (PEL) as a Certified School Nurse in Illinois
  • Demonstrated experience in school nursing at the RN level
  • Strong background supporting students across K-12 settings
  • Prior experience working with special needs students and participating in IEP meetings highly preferred
  • Ability to work the specific school-required hours for both high school (7:00am–2:30pm, Mon–Wed) and elementary school (8:00am–4:00pm, Thurs–Fri) buildings

    • Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive health services to students in both high school and elementary settings
  • Respond to daily student health needs, administer medications, and manage acute and chronic health concerns within the health office
  • Collaborate closely with school staff and families to create safe, accessible, and supportive health plans for students
  • Participate actively in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings for special needs students
  • Maintain accurate health records, ensure compliance with state guidelines, and promote health education initiatives within the school community
