Exciting opportunities await for experienced Registered Nurses with a background in Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) nursing. This contract position offers the chance to work in a specialized CVICU dedicated to providing outstanding care for cardiac patients, both before and after surgery. The environment is dynamic, with flexibility in scheduling to align with surgical case needs.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • Holiday coverage as needed
  • On-call availability expected
  • Key Qualifications:

  • Active and unencumbered RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years’ recent CVICU nursing experience
  • Strong cardiac patient care skills pre- and post-operative
  • Flexibility to float to Pediatric ICU, NICU, and Peds as facility needs demand
  • Strong critical thinking, assessment, and clinical documentation skills
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; additional pediatric/neonatal credentials a plus
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to adapt to new and evolving clinical environments
  • Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality, compassionate nursing care to cardiac surgical patients in a specialized CVICU
  • Monitor patient conditions closely and respond swiftly to changes
  • Collaborate effectively with surgeons, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
  • Support patients and their families with education and updates regarding surgical care and recovery
  • Maintain accurate records, ensuring documentation compliance with hospital policies and standards
  • Be prepared to float between CVICU, PICU, Peds, and NICU units as assigned
