Deliver vital intraoperative care and support as a skilled Operating Room Technician. In this contract position, you will assist the surgical team in preparation and execution of surgical procedures, ensuring safety and efficiency throughout each case. Your attention to maintaining a sterile environment and readiness with instruments will ensure the highest standards of patient care are met.

  • Qualifications/Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as an Operating Room Technician (ORT)
  • Formal training in perioperative nursing or allied health discipline required
  • Strong understanding of sterile techniques and surgical safety protocols
  • Proficient in handling, cleaning, and passing surgical instruments and supplies
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of surgeons and adapt swiftly to emergent situations
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and teamwork abilities
  • Current certifications/licensure as required by practice standards
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field for procedures
  • Support surgeons by retracting tissues, passing instruments, and managing supplies throughout surgery
  • Confirm and prepare all required surgical tools, medications, and equipment before procedures
  • Assist with patient positioning and operative site preparation as directed
  • Maintain accurate counts of surgical instruments and sponges
  • Collaborate closely with intraoperative team members and respond promptly to requests
  • Ensure effective turnover of operating rooms between cases and assist with supply maintenance
  • Maintain compliance with all facility and regulatory safety standards
