Step into an engaging and collaborative environment providing crucial care as a Med/Surg Telemetry RN. This contract opportunity involves assignment within a reputable, non-teaching hospital recognized as a Chest Pain and Stroke Center with 207 licensed beds. RNs will home-base on a unit after orientation but must be comfortable floating to other local facilities within their clinical scope, sometimes within a shift (compensated for on-the-clock travel between locations).

Schedule/Hours:

  • Every other weekend rotation
  • No on-call required
  • Travelers expected to work 75% of holidays
  • Schedule provided in 6-week cycles
  • Up to 6 days off can be accommodated (excluding holidays)
  • Desired Experience and Credentials:

  • Active RN license with at least 18 months of recent Med/Tele experience (Resource Team)
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Stroke care and cardiac rhythm interpretation expertise strongly preferred
  • Prior travel nursing experience preferred, though strong candidates may be considered for first assignment
  • Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based care to diverse populations, including patients with end stage renal disease, behavioral health needs, diabetic complications, and more
  • Responsively manage patient load (ratios typically 1:5-6, with critical surge capacity to 1:7-8)
  • Initiate and monitor cardiac drips, heparin therapy, blood product transfusions, and IV fluids
  • Perform all facets of general Med/Surg Telemetry skills—trach and tube/drain care, NGT placement, PCA pumps, foley catheter management, and medication administration
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams: CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and intensivists
