This hospital is nationally recognized as a Level 1 Trauma Center and teaching institution, with a dedicated focus on collaborative and patient-centered care.

Schedule:

  • 12-hour shifts: 7A-7P or 7P-7A
  • Every 6-week cycle (including 5-6 weekend shifts and rotation for major holidays)
  • No on-call required
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a med-surg/telemetry setting
  • BLS certification (required)
  • Basic Cardiac Rhythm/EKG competency (will be tested as part of compliance)
  • ACLS and Med-Surg nursing certification preferred, not required
  • Strong clinical assessment skills with proficiency in IV insertion, central line management, wound and post-op care, chest tube management, trach care, foley insertion, cardiac telemetry interpretation, and insulin/heparin drip management
  • Ability to work effectively in a Level 1 Trauma setting and as part of an interdisciplinary team
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac, renal, respiratory, and post-op needs
  • Manage a patient load of 1:4-6, collaborating with LPNs and CNAs
  • Assess, monitor, and respond to complex patient conditions
  • Coordinate care transitions, including discharge planning and patient/family education (especially for renal and fluid management)
  • Work with advanced equipment including EPIC, Alaris, Pyxis, Philips monitors, and specialized med-surg technology
  • Department Support:

  • CNAs, dedicated unit secretaries, resource nurses, discharge team, RT, Hospitalist, and Intensivist coverage 24/7
  • Additional Information:

  • Navy scrubs required for RNs
