Experienced ICU RNs are needed to deliver high-quality care in a dynamic hospital environment. This contract role primarily covers 12-hour night shifts in the Intensive Care Unit, with additional opportunities for some Progressive Care Unit (PCU) day shifts. Candidates will work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals, supporting critically ill patients with compassion and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Current, active South Dakota RN license or Compact/Multistate RN license (required)
  • Minimum of one year of ICU nursing experience preferred
  • BLS and ACLS certifications valid through assignment period
  • Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
  • Adaptability to fast-paced environments and confident in decision-making under pressure
  • Schedule:

  • Several 12-hour night shifts in ICU
  • Some day shifts available in PCU
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive patient care in the ICU, including monitoring, assessment, and interventions for critically ill patients
  • Collaborate closely with medical staff, respiratory therapists, and interdisciplinary teams to execute care plans
  • Administer medications, manage life-support equipment, and document patient status changes promptly and accurately
  • Support patients and their families by communicating updates and providing education on critical care processes
  • Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
