Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care in a dynamic Medical ICU/Step Down environment. As an RN skilled in ICU nursing, you’ll be responsible for supporting a 20-bed mixed ICU/Step Down unit, providing advanced clinical expertise to patients requiring critical and progressive care. The unit maintains an ICU nurse-to-patient ratio of 2:1 and a Step Down ratio of 3:1, ensuring safe and effective care.

You will also be asked to float to an affiliated sister unit as needed, caring for step down (SD) or progressive care patients at a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio, allowing for valuable experience across care settings. Weekend and holiday rotation is required, reflecting the essential nature of this role.

Schedule:

  • Rotational weekends and holidays
  • Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license and BLS certification
  • ACLS certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
  • Minimum of one year recent ICU experience preferred
  • Familiarity with step down/progressive care (SDU/PCU) units a plus
  • Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
  • Adaptability for floating between units
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Responsibilities:

  • Assess, plan, and provide nursing care to critically ill and progressive care patients
  • Closely monitor and document vital signs, patient status, and response to treatments
  • Administer medications and therapies as prescribed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes
  • Support patient families and offer education and reassurance
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies and safety protocols
  • Rotate as needed to sister units to cover patient care requirements
