Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified RN or LPN to provide 1:1 nursing support for a student during daily transportation to and from school. The nurse will accompany the student on the school bus, provide necessary nursing care, and ensure the student's safety throughout transportation.
Key Responsibilities
Meet the student for morning transportation and accompany them on the school bus to school.
Escort the student from the bus and ensure a safe transition into the school day.
Meet the student in the afternoon and accompany them on the bus ride from school to home.
Monitor the student's health and safety throughout transportation.
Administer anti-seizure medication as needed and according to the student's care plan.
Communicate with school staff and families regarding relevant health and nursing needs.
Maintain appropriate nursing documentation and follow all applicable policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Current New Jersey RN or LPN license required.
Pediatric or school nursing experience preferred.
Experience caring for students with complex medical needs preferred.
Must be comfortable and qualified to administer anti-seizure medication.
Strong communication, reliability, and ability to provide attentive 1:1 care.
