Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license (required; resumes and certifications must accompany your application)
  • Demonstrated previous school nursing experience (required)
  • Must be available during school hours: 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM
  • LPNs not eligible
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver first aid, illness, emergency, and routine health care aligned with professional standards and school/state policies
  • Administer and document medications; assure secure storage
  • Support wellness initiatives and district health projects (e.g., allergy/asthma plans)
  • Assist in maintaining health office operations alongside Certified School Nurse and aides
  • Monitor and report AED maintenance
  • Maintain meticulous medical records and manage regulatory compliance
  • Serve as a mandated reporter for suspected abuse/neglect
