Schedule/Hours:

  • Flexible scheduling required to meet patient and facility needs
  • As a Registered Nurse in the Operating Room, you’ll be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care throughout all perioperative phases—from pre-op assessment to post-op evaluation. Coordinate and direct nursing care based on established standards, partner with multidisciplinary teams for optimal outcomes, and serve as a resource for colleagues in a dynamic, culturally diverse setting.

    Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an NLN-approved nursing program; Associate Degree required, BSN preferred
  • Current Alaska RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 1-2 years of OR nursing experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred
  • National Certification in Surgery/PACU (preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of AORN standards and medical terminology
  • Proficient in oral and written communication
  • Ability to use medical and office equipment, interpret diagnostics, and educate patients/families
  • Flexible, independent, and adaptable to changing demands
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive care for patients of all ages during perioperative periods
  • Apply assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation using the Nursing Process
  • Administer treatments and medications, interpret diagnostic results
  • Educate patients and families, considering cultural diversity and age-specific needs
  • Supervise administrative assistants, schedulers, and CSR techs in collaboration with the Charge Nurse
  • Ensure adherence to established guidelines, policies, and best practices
