Step into a vital nursing role supporting gen med/oncology stepdown patients in a dynamic, well-supported unit. This contract opportunity offers meaningful hands-on patient care and utilizes the latest healthcare technologies and protocols.

Schedule & Hours:

  • 3x12 hour night shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Block scheduling may be accommodated (please specify preferences)
  • No on-call responsibility
  • Qualifications:

  • Active Michigan RN License required
  • BLS (AHA) certification required
  • ONCC or ONS certification required (ONS may be pending; ONCC must be current)
  • Minimum 2 years of stepdown/PCU nursing experience
  • Competency in administering chemotherapy via IV and starting IVs
  • Experience with Welch Allyn vital sign towers, sigma IV pumps, and using EPIC for documentation
  • Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to general medicine/oncology stepdown patients
  • Administer IV chemotherapy following established protocols and safety standards
  • Start IV lines and document all interventions and assessments in EPIC
  • Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4–6; additional support provided as needed
  • Float as needed to other med-surg areas, including AU and ER, caring for med-surg patient populations
  • Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams and support staff
  • Participate in self-scheduling for non-weekend shifts; weekend shifts determined by manager/scheduler
  • Remain available for the first two weeks of assignment; any time-off requests after offer must be discussed with management
