Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate School Registered Nurse (RN) to join our educational team in Coos Bay, OR. This role is essential in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of students by providing medical care, health education, and emergency response services within the school setting. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Monitor and manage student health plans for conditions such as asthma, diabetes, and severe allergies.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential student health records in compliance with Oregon state regulations.
  • Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and parents to support student health and well-being.
  • Conduct health screenings and ensure student compliance with immunization requirements.
  • Educate students and staff on disease prevention, hygiene, and wellness practices.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate care with local healthcare providers as needed.
  • Ensure adherence to school health policies, Individualized Health Plans (IHPs), IEPs, and 504 plans.

    Qualifications

  • Current Oregon RN license (required).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) (preferred).
  • CPR and First Aid certification (required).
  • Experience in pediatric, school, or public health nursing (preferred).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a school health team.

  • Knowledge of state and federal school health guidelines.
