A full-time contract to hire opportunity is available for an experienced RN seeking to work as a school nurse in a dynamic K-12 environment. In this role, you'll serve as the primary health room nurse, working closely with students who visit for a variety of health-related needs—from minor injuries to medication administration. The school is currently located in Warren, RI, with an exciting transition to a Providence campus scheduled for the Spring.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and valid RN license in Rhode Island
  • Previous experience as a school nurse or in a pediatric setting preferred
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
  • Strong communication skills and a caring, student-centered approach
  • Ability to maintain accurate health records and follow confidentiality standards
  • Comfortable providing both routine care and responding calmly in emergencies

    • Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily care to students who come to the health room, assessing and addressing their needs
  • Administer prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with physician orders and school policy
  • Maintain meticulous health records and documentation
  • Collaborate with school staff, families, and outside providers to support student wellness
  • Help coordinate immunization records, student physicals, and state-mandated health screenings
  • Educate students and staff on illness prevention, chronic condition management, and general health information
