Step into a fulfilling role supporting students in grades 6-8 and Pre-K as a dedicated nurse on a full-time contract basis, spanning the upcoming academic year from August 19 through June 10. Required Qualifications:

  • Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
  • Illinois Certified School Nurse (CSN) certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
  • Proven experience working in school settings and comfort in supporting both younger children (Pre-K) and adolescents (grades 6-8)
  • Familiarity with school health protocols, chronic condition management, immunization compliance, and student IEP/504 healthcare planning
  • Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to optimize student well-being
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver day-to-day health services, manage minor injuries, and administer medication according to policy
  • Conduct health assessments, vision, hearing, and mandated screenings
  • Participate in IEP/504 meetings and coordinate care for students with medical needs
  • Maintain accurate records, ensure compliance with state and district health requirements
  • Provide effective health education and promote wellness for students and staff
  • Serve as a resource for health information and participate in crisis response as needed
  • Rotate between assigned school buildings for grades 6-8 and Pre-K as scheduled
