Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Caseload: 1:1 with Elementary Student
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 care for a medically stable elementary school student with a tracheostomy and ventilator. This is a school-based assignment running from August through December, following the regular school day schedule.
The nurse will accompany the student to and from a local special education school and remain with them throughout the school day, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to a student with a trach and ventilator
Monitor and assess the student’s respiratory and overall health status during transport and school hours
Perform one scheduled tube feeding per day
Collaborate with school staff and other support professionals as needed
Ensure proper documentation of care provided
Maintain a safe and supportive environment for the student
Requirements:
Active Illinois RN license (Required)
Current CPR Certification (Required)
