Part-Time School Registered Nurse (RN) - Beaverdam, NV

Administer daily medications, treatments, and procedures as outlined in students’ healthcare plans.

Monitor chronic health conditions such as diabetes, asthma, seizure disorders, and mobility limitations.

Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant medical documentation and logs at all four school sites.

2. Special Education Support

Participate in the development and review of IEPs, contributing health-related data and recommendations.

Conduct ongoing medical assessments and provide input on accommodations or modifications based on student needs.

Collaborate with special education teachers, speech/language pathologists, psychologists, and occupational therapists.

3. Data Collection and Reporting

Track and report medical data relevant to IEP development and compliance.

Maintain up-to-date records for 55 to 70 students receiving special education services, ensuring information is shared with appropriate school personnel and families.

Support Medicaid billing through accurate documentation of eligible nursing services.

4. Emergency Preparedness and Crisis Response

Develop, update, and practice emergency care plans for students with life-threatening conditions.

Provide first aid and emergency response for injuries, illnesses, and behavioral health crises.

Train staff on recognizing signs of medical distress and administering epi-pens, seizure protocols, and CPR when necessary.

5. Site Collaboration

Travel regularly between four school sites; mileage reimbursement is provided.

Act as a liaison between families, school teams, and external medical providers.

Assist with annual health screenings, immunization compliance, and health education efforts.

Required Qualifications

Current and valid RN licensure in the state of Nevada

Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience, preferably in pediatrics, school nursing, or public health

Experience in medication administration and care coordination

Demonstrated knowledge of IEP processes and student health documentation

Valid driver’s license and ability to travel among multiple sites

Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience in school settings or with students with disabilities

Knowledge of state and federal health laws related to education (IDEA, Section 504, FERPA)

Comfort with digital health records and IEP management systems

Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
