Hillsborough County Public Schools is seeking LPNs and RN-BSNs for school-based nursing positions throughout the Tampa area. These are full-time, onsite opportunities supporting student health and wellness in elementary to high school settings.- multiple openings. This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse who enjoys working in an educational setting and is committed to helping students achieve success in the classroom and beyond.

Openings may become available at any point during the school year, and qualified candidates will be considered as positions arise.


Position Details:

  • Location: Hillsborough County Public Schools (Various Tampa-Area Locations)
  • School Year: ASAP – May 29, 2027
  • Schedule: 36.5 Hours Per Week
  • School-day hours only
  • Early release every Monday
  • Monday-Friday schedule


    • What You'll Do

  • Provide direct nursing care to students in a school setting
  • Manage daily health room operations
  • Administer medications and prescribed treatments
  • Assess and respond to student health concerns and emergencies
  • Promote student wellness and health education
  • Support multiple school sites when needed


    • Qualifications

  • ✔ Active Florida LPN or RN License
  • ✔ Current CPR Certification
  • ✔ School-based nursing experience preferred
  • ✔ RN candidates must possess a BSN to qualify for RN pay rates
  • ✔ Ability to work at various school locations throughout Hillsborough County
  • ✔ Passion for supporting children, families, and educational communities


    • Additional Information

  • HCPS requires district fingerprinting for all contracted school nurses in addition to AHCA requirements.
  • Please note: Previous HCPS employees must also complete HCPS fingerprinting requirements.
  • Placement opportunities may become available throughout the school year, making this an excellent opportunity to be considered for both current and future openings.
