This contract role on a high-acuity Medical-Surgical/Telemetry resource team supports diverse patient populations, from renal and hepatic disorders to trauma, transplant, and complex post-operative care. Work alongside dedicated interdisciplinary professionals at a Magnet-designated facility equipped with advanced technology and comprehensive patient services.

Schedule / Hours

  • Rotating weekends (every other)
  • No on-call requirement
  • Must be available to work 75% of major holidays
  • Flexible floating within assigned region and facilities as needed
  • Qualifications

  • Unrestricted RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Med-Surg/Tele nurse; resource team experience preferred
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications required
  • Strong Med/Tele skillset: expertise in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, and management of drains/tubes (Dobhoff, PEG, Hemovac, JP drains, foleys, etc.)
  • Proficient in titration and administration of cardiac drips, heparin, blood products, and IV fluids
  • Comfort with EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, and Phillips monitors
  • Willingness to float regionally within scope of practice; travel between facilities may occur mid-shift with compensated travel time
  • Key Responsibilities

  • Prioritize patient-centered clinical care for varied and high-acuity medical-surgical and telemetry patients
  • Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms independently (no monitoring tech support)
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including 24/7 resources such as hospitalists, intensivists, and respiratory therapists
  • Effectively manage patient ratios, supporting excellent outcomes in a fast-paced environment
