Step into a dynamic MedSurg/Tele setting within a large, renowned teaching facility, supporting acute and complex patients across a variety of diagnoses including renal, hepatic, and trauma-related conditions. This contract nursing opportunity offers exposure to Level I trauma care, Stroke Center and Chest Pain Center protocols, and state-of-the-art Magnet-designated practices.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Weekend rotation required: Every other weekend
  • No on-call for travelers
  • Expect to work 75% of holidays
  • Floating within assigned region required; paid travel time if floating mid-shift
  • Up to 6 days off can be approved (excluding holidays), with schedule adjustments as needed
  • Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum of 2 years recent Med/Tele RN experience (Resource Team)
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • General Med/Tele skillset; proficiency in stroke care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, trach care, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, blood product management, and cardiac/heparin drips
  • Experience with complex medical and surgical patients, including transplant and trauma cases
  • Prior first-time traveler experience considered, but not preferred
  • Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality care to diverse med/tele patient populations, including those with acute organ failure, complex surgical histories, and trauma
  • Perform advanced nursing interventions such as PIV starts, chest tube and drain care, and medication gtt management
  • Accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and manage stroke interventions
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team: CNAs, phlebotomists, resource nurses, respiratory therapists, and hospitalists
  • Utilize EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Phillips monitors, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems
  • Float as needed to units and locations within assigned regional network
