Step into a highly specialized nursing role on a dedicated Bone Marrow Transplant Unit, providing patient-centered care for oncology and hematology individuals undergoing complex treatments. This contract opportunity is on the 4th floor, Bone Marrow Transplant unit, offering valuable experience within a collaborative and learning-focused team environment.

Schedule:

  • Night Shift: 7:00pm – 7:30am
  • Every third weekend required; includes 24 weekend hours
  • Rotating holidays as needed
  • Guaranteed 36 hours per week
  • No call responsibilities
  • Qualifications:

  • Current RN license
  • BLS and ACLS certifications (required)
  • ONS Chemotherapy and Biotherapy certifications (required)
  • Proficient in stepdown, critical care, blood administration, electrolyte replacement, neuro assessments, and central line dressing changes
  • Experience with high-risk and hazardous drug administration
  • Ability to float to like units, including stepdown, critical care, and oncology as needed
  • Preferred: Oncology/Hematology, chemotherapy administration, bone marrow transplant background, experience with vents and drips
  • Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to hematology and bone marrow transplant patients with requirements such as blood/electrolyte replacement, long-term IV therapy, chemotherapy, and PT coordination
  • Administer and monitor patients on vents, manage drips, and use equipment including Alaris Pumps, Phillips monitors, and Stryker beds
  • Complete patient assessments and document using EPIC/Beacon EMR
  • Support and collaborate with colleagues, proactively assist others, and embrace a learning mindset
  • Participate in up to three shifts of orientation and complete mandatory online education modules before your first day
