Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year at a K-8 school in Detroit, MI. This full-time position will start as soon as possible and extend through June 6, 2025. The school nurse will be responsible for providing essential healthcare services to students, ensuring a safe and healthy school environment, and supporting the well-being of students in kindergarten through 8th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct healthcare services to students, including managing chronic conditions and administering medications.
  • Respond to emergency situations and provide first aid as needed.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external healthcare providers to create individual healthcare plans (IHPs).
  • Conduct health screenings and maintain accurate student health records.
  • Educate students and staff on health-related issues and promote a healthy school environment.

    Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license in Michigan.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Experience working with a K-8 population or in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
