Certified School Nurse (CSN) – Buffalo Grove, IL

Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing for a full-time Certified School Nurse (CSN) position with school districts in the Buffalo Grove, IL area. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced professional to ensure the health and well-being of students within the school environment.

Position: Certified School Nurse (CSN)
Location: Buffalo Grove, IL
Type: Full-time, Contract

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct health services to students, including first aid, medication administration, and management of chronic conditions.
  • Develop individualized health care plans for students with specific medical needs.
  • Perform health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.) and maintain accurate health records in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
  • Collaborate with school staff, parents, and external health care providers to promote student health and safety.
  • Educate students and staff on health-related topics, including disease prevention, hygiene, and wellness.
  • Respond to health emergencies and develop emergency care plans for students with life-threatening health conditions.
  • Maintain a safe, healthy school environment in line with state and district policies.

    Qualifications:

    To be eligible for this position, applicants must meet the following local and state requirements:

  • Valid Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) License.
  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Nurse Endorsement (required).
  • CPR/AED Certification.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or related field (preferred).
  • Previous experience working as a school nurse or in pediatric nursing is highly desirable.
  • Strong assessment, organizational, and communication skills.
