Registered Nurse (RN) – Henderson, NC

Join our team in Henderson, NC, for the 2024-2025 school year! We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with expertise in tracheostomy care to support a high school student on a 1:1 basis. This role is vital to ensuring the student's health and safety throughout the school day.

Position Details:

  • Location: Henderson, NC
  • Discipline: Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • School Year: August 2, 2024 – May 23, 2025
  • Schedule: Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week
  • Additional Responsibilities: Bus duties to and from school with the student

    Caseload/Details:

  • Caseload: 1:1 care for a high school student with a tracheostomy
  • Duties:
  • Provide tracheostomy care and other necessary medical support during the school day.
  • Accompany the student on the bus to and from school, ensuring their safety.
  • Implement and monitor the student's individual health plan or plan of care.
  • Conduct health evaluations and assessments as needed.
  • Collaborate with and report to the district nurse supervisor or designee.

    Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (RN): Active RN license in North Carolina
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN): Will be considered if they have experience with tracheostomy care and are familiar with obtaining doctors' orders.
  • Experience: Previous experience in tracheostomy care is required.
  • Skills: Strong assessment and evaluation skills, ability to work independently, and excellent communication skills.
